Q: How do I get my son/daughter involved in the Vaughn Forest Student Ministry?

A: This is one of our most frequently asked questions.  The tough part is, there is no one right answer for every student. We do want to mention a few different ideas of getting your son/daughter involved in The Student Ministry. One of the easiest ways to get your student involved is to introduce them to one of the Student Ministry Staff members or volunteers.  Once we meet your student, we will find a student who can show your son/daughter around. Another way to get your student connected is to get them involved in a LCBF class.  These small group Bible studies are divided by grades and meet in the Upper Room at 8:00 & 9:30 on Sunday mornings.  You can call the Vaughn Forest Student Ministry office to find out more details about LCBF classes and where your son’s/daughter’s class meets.  Another way to get your son/daughter involved in the ministry is to come to a major event. Because of all the events we have, it may be a lot less threatening to come to an event rather than a church service or Bible study. The student ministry staff wants to do whatever is possible in order for your student to get involved in the ministry. I honestly believe there is no greater thing your son/daughter could be involved in than the Student Ministry at Vaughn Forest.

Q: What are all the events available to the students at Vaughn Forest?

A: There are way too many events to list for each individual ministry within the VF Student Ministry. The best way to find out about all of the events is to check out this website. On this site, you can find all the upcoming events within the VF Student Ministry. You can also call the Vaughn Forest Student Ministry office for any event questions or information.

Q: How do I, as a parent, get involved in the Vaughn Forest Student Ministry?

A: There are numerous ways for you, as a parent or guardian, to get involved in the VF Student Ministry. The easiest way to be involved is to pray for the VF Student Ministry on a regular basis. Although there are a lot of things going on in the ministry, no of those things make any kind of significant difference without God’s power. Debbie Dickson leads our student ministry prayer team.  For more info email her at (ldandfamily@aol.com) As far as physically getting involved in the ministry, there are tons of ways to get plugged in. If you are interested in serving with the VF Student ministry please contact one of the Student Ministry staff members and we will personally find an area where you can use your gifts and skills to reach students.  There is no greater place where you can serve that will make any greater impact than in the Vaughn Forest Student Ministry. The student ministry staff would love to have you be a part of the team!

Q: If my son/daughter needs professional counseling, where should I go?

A: Anyone on The Student Ministry staff would love to talk with your son/daughter. We are not trained, licensed counselors, but we can speak with students about spiritual nature of any issues. For any major psychological issues, we highly recommend a licensed, professional counselor. We have a professional counselor on staff here at Vaughn Forest Baptist Church. His name is Dr. Charles Hobson, and you can call the church office (334-279-5433) and set-up an appointment with him any time you need.

Q: Why does the Vaughn Forest Student Ministry do the things it does?

A: The student ministry does things in particular ways in order to fulfill the vision of the church. Rest assured, anything that happens within the Student Ministry falls under our purpose statement.  The purpose statement of the Vaughn Forest Student Ministry is: We exist to love and glorify God as we TELL people about Jesus, TEACH them His Word, and TRAIN them to become fully devoted followers.  Anything that happens in the Vaughn Forest Student Ministry falls under that purpose statement.
